City of Shelter:
A Coordinated Community Response to Domestic Violence
Global Village Communications (GVC) was formed in 1985 by Joey Easton O'Donnell and the late Patrick O'Donnell. Incorporated as a nonprofit educational organization in 1989, GVC has fulfilled it's mission through the production of over 100 video-based programs, covering a wide range of educational topics and social issues.
Dedicated to the exchange of ideas through today's media

To our friends and colleagues,

In 2009, Global Village Communications closed as a nonprofit organization. I continue to write and produce on a freelance basis (follow the link to Family of Writers), and oversee the management of programs we have produced, including the City of Shelter series.

It's always hard to know when it's time to take another path. In a profession driven by constantly changing technology and mercurial funding, we had a fantastic 20 year run! To spend the bulk of your adult life doing work you love with the partner you love -- well, that's some kind of special gift. We collaborated with amazing folks who became our friends, and whose missions became our own.

I would like to thank our funders and board of directors for believing in our projects over those many years.

Please drop me a line at www.familyofwriters.org. I'm exploring those bends in the path, and always up for new adventures!
