Victoria’s Red Hill, Park Orchards and Middle Park rank among the top 10 suburbs in Australia in terms of online views per property listing, according to a report. Other than Victoria, Tasmania has three suburbs that also ranked among the most popular suburbs in the country.
The high prices of homes in Melbourne, despite a market slowdown, have led many Australians to find alternatives places for buying real estate. Donnybrook is a good choice if you still find it too expensive to move to Red Hill, where the median home price reached more than $1.4 million.
Homes in Park Orchards cost more than $1.5 million on average, whilst those in Middle Park have a median price of $2.74 million. Middle Park houses are the most expensive due to its close proximity to Melbourne’s central business district. Whichever place you choose, Victoria is a good place for buying a house partly because of the lower crime rate as of June.
Other Top Suburbs
South Hobart topped the list due to the number of online searches in the suburb from people, especially those from Melbourne. The Tasmanian suburb’s median home price reaches $650,000, which is relatively low even if it is close to the city. Battery Point and West Hobart are the other two most popular suburbs in the state.
In New South Wales, the Collaroy Plateau and Birchgrove are among the top places for homebuyers. Median prices in these suburbs cost $1.71 million and $1.8 million, respectively. South Australia’s Crafers West and Aldgate completed the list of the most popular suburbs in the country.
The popularity of suburbs in different states become more noticeable if they are closer to the central business district. In Victoria, a house in the outer suburbs seems better for buyers who want lower prices.
